Some Tips to Keep Feet Healthy
The feet carry our weight, long hours of standing or walking, vigorous sports, shoes that crowd. It is subject to some 6,000 movements daily. if it’s not well cared for foot started having bad reflections and discomfort in other parts of the body. the skin becomes rough and wrinkled, even to form calluses on the fingers and fissures and cracks in the heel and sole.
Both summer and winter you have to take care of your feet forever. This does not mean we have to spend much time in your care, but be consistent, good hygiene and implement a care product adapted to our needs.
You have to aware the importance relationship between foot health and general health and welfare. With this idea, we would like to share some tips to help keep feet healthy when you start the journey by the new millennium.
- Do not ignore foot pain. If pain persists, consult a podiatrist or your doctor.
- Examine your feet regularly. Pay attention to changes in color and temperature of your feet. Look for thick or discolored nails (can be a sign of developing fungus), and check for cracks or cuts in the skin. The shedding or peeling of skin on the soles of the feet or between the toes may indicate the existence of fungi (athlete’s foot). Any growth on the skin of the foot is considered normal.
- Wash your feet regularly, especially between the toes and make sure to dry them completely.
- Cut the nails of the toes in a straight line, but not too short, especially the corners, can lead to deformed nails digging and causing injury. People with diabetes or circulatory problems should exercise extreme care because they are more prone to infection.
- Make sure your shoes are appropriate for your feet. Buy shoes late in the day when feet tend to be more dilated. Change your shoes as soon as possible if they are already very worn or deformed.
- Select the right shoe for the activity to be engaged in (i.e. to work, running, etc.).
- Use more than one pair of shoes and alternate use, do not use them every day.
- It’s good to walk without shoes but barefoot because their feet will be more prone to injury and infection. At the beach or when exposed to the sun, always use sunscreen on your feet and the rest of your body.
- Be cautious when using home remedies for foot ailments; self-treatment can often lead to a major problem that was intended to treat.
- If you are a person with diabetes is vital to visit a podiatrist at least once a year for a checkup.
